How it came together
The brief
Hargreaves Lansdown wanted to create a suite of short, authentic case study videos featuring real customers talking about their investment journey.
These films needed to feel human and grounded, while reinforcing HL’s strengths: simplicity, trust, and control over your financial future. Jack’s story was part of this wider series, aimed at new and prospective users.
The shoot
We filmed on location at Uphill Beach near Weston-super-Mare — an open, natural setting that perfectly suited Jack’s calm, down-to-earth presence. With his camper van as a character in its own right, we captured interview content and lifestyle B-roll using natural light and a small, agile three-person crew.
Drone shots added movement and scale, following Jack as he drove along the coast, adding cinematic scope to a simple story.
The edit
We delivered one main case study film alongside multiple social cutdowns tailored for both organic and paid use. The visuals were kept clean and bright, with subtle motion graphics to emphasise key points.
The end result was warm, trustworthy and relatable — exactly what you want from a testimonial film.

Minimal crew, natural light, and a compelling voice — the result? A testimonial that looks great, feels honest, and does its job without shouting.
The film went down a storm internally at HL. It was used across multiple campaigns and platforms for months, and became a bit of a benchmark for future content. Several people inside the business assumed it had cost four times the actual budget — a testament to the quality delivered with a tight, efficient team. Big impact, small footprint.
