How it came together
The brief
Fidelity commissioned us to create an animated explainer to help demystify their Master Trust pension scheme. The goal was to replace dry PowerPoint decks and wordy PDFs with something more engaging, visual, and suited to prospective employer clients. It needed to be informative, professional, and easy to follow — but with enough flair to hold attention.
Creative Development
This was a fully animated video production project, giving us creative freedom to develop the style, characters, and storytelling from scratch. We took a semi-whimsical route, using the metaphor of a growing tree to represent the structure of the trust — with different birds nesting in its branches to visualise the many employers it supports. This allowed us to convey complex information in a simple and memorable way.
Animation & Delivery
We designed and animated the film entirely in-house, including custom motion graphics, scripting, voiceover, and sound design. The final result was clean, approachable, and full of movement — a standout piece of pension explainer video production that Fidelity now uses to pitch the Master Trust scheme to new clients in meetings and online.
Feathering the Nest
This animation proves that even the driest subjects can be brought to life with the right creative approach. By combining metaphor, character animation, and slick motion design, we helped Fidelity swap slides for storytelling — and made pensions just a little bit more fun to understand.
